Our mission is to join with other men on a journey
|
Right from the start it was noticed that there was great energy during the sharing of breakfast. The tables hold from 1 to 6 people. So far every table has had at least four. Without any formal prompting the tables each have begun sharing with each other. In many cases these shared thoughts have been stimulating. As Ed Conrad has pointed out, "When men get together with other men, they are just able to act and talk about things differently than they can in any other context." (paraphrasing by Gregg)
The leadership group thought it would be nice if we provided a reading of some sort to offer a source of inspiration for these informal breakfast discussions. It could also serve as a link amongst the different tables.
I have loved the word 'breakfast' ever since I learned it's true and literal meaning. When we go to sleep at night we begin a fast, not only of food, but also of conscious thought and feeling. In such moments inspiration, insights and sometimes miracles occur. So to is the case with the Men of Unity. Hopefully we can help each other (and ourselves) break any long term fasts that are keeping our brothers from experiencing their true god-given masculine power.
